Fire Marshal Declares Santa Maria Supply Building A Total Loss After Weekend Blaze

SANTA MARIA, Calif. (KEYT) - The Santa Maria Fire Marshal has officially declared the building of Santa Maria Supply a total loss after a fire over the weekend.

Emergency crews responded to a report of a fire on at the corner of Blosser Road and Boone Street around 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

The hardware store also sold home improvement goods and gardening products.

One firefighter was reportedly injured and is being treated at Marian Medical Center, but no one else was injured.

While the cause is still under investigation, fire officials say the blaze heavily damaged the storage area.

Officials say the fire was ultimately brought under control, but the damage sustained has caused the city's fire marshal to declare the building a total loss and unsafe to occupy.
