Firefighters at the scene of electrical fire at cold storage facility on Commercial Avenue in Oxnard

OXNARD, Calif. (KEYT) – Fire crews are on the scene of an electrical fire at a cold storage facility in the 1000 block of Commercial Avenue Tuesday.

So far, no injuries have been reported from the scene and the large facility has been evacuated shared the Oxnard Fire Department.

According to Oxnard Fire Department, heavy smoke was spotted coming from an outbuilding at the site that houses electrical systems and firefighters are waiting for power to be secured before extending their search for additional sources of smoke.

Commercial Avenue has been closed from Wooley Road to Meta Street and drivers are asked to avoid the area during the response added the Oxnard Fire Department.
