Health experts explain how the ‘Tripledemic’ impacts people on the Central Coast

SANTA MARIA, Calif. – People across the Central Coast have been impacted by the tripledemic -- COVID-19, Influenza and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV).

This winter, COVID-19 cases have increased, a trend medical professionals said will happen moving forward every flu season.

The triple threat respiratory illnesses have similar symptoms and can be similar to the common cold, although each is unique and have different treatments.

Doctors do recommend the vaccine for all three viruses. The RSV vaccine is only available for infants with severe symptoms.
