On-site First Aid available at the Mid-State Fair
PASO ROBLES, Calif. - The California Mid-State Fair is well underway at the Paso Robles Event Center.
From the star-studded lineup of concerts, to the fair food and games, the family-friendly fair is attracting people from all over to San Luis Obispo County.
The fair is fun, but the consistent, triple digit inland heat can potentially be dangerous for those attending.
The City of Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services are on-site to assist anyone who may experience signs or symptoms of heat-related illnesses.
The on-site aid station can provide electrolytes, water, and bring whoever needs help to their air-conditioned trailer for a break from the heat.
Emergency medical providers advise fair-goers to arrive later in the day, when temperatures are slightly cooler.
The weather may feel oppressive for tourists who are not acclimated to the inland heat.
Several Heat Alerts have been in effect throughout the fair, including a Heat Advisory announced this week.
If you feel overheated or disorientated, seek help or take a break.
