One dead and two injured in Highway 126 crash near Fillmore
VENTURA, Calif. – One person was killed and two others seriously injured in a crash along Highway 126 near Fillmore.
The CHP said the crash happened around 10:15 a.m. Monday.
Officers were called to the scene and found two cars involved in the crash.
A 64-year-old man and 66-year-old woman were trapped in a Mercury. The man, who was identified as the driver, was hospitalized with major injuries. The woman, who investigators said was a passenger, was killed.
The 24-year-old driver of the second vehicle, a BMW, was treated at the scene and then hospitalized with major injuries.
Investigators said the Mercury was traveling eastbound on Highway 126, west of Cavin Road, when the car drove into the westbound lanes and collided head-on with the BMW.
Investigators said no arrests were made.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
