U.S. Congress, 24th District Candidate: Michele R. Weslander Quaid

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Michele Weslander-Quaid is one of four candidates running for U.S. Congress, 24th District.

"We need people who love America, who have integrity, who are servant leaders, and will do what’s best for America and the American people in office," said Weslander-Quaid.

Weslander-Quaid describes her story as “an American dream.”

"I was raised by a single mom, and we struggled to make ends meet. But through hard work and a great education, I was able to have a better standard of living. I went on to earn degrees, Bachelor of Science, Physics and Engineering Science, and a Master of Science and Optics. And from graduate school, I was recruited into the National Security Community where I served for 25 years,” said Weslander-Quaid.

Weslander-Quaid said she served at the senior executive levels in both industry and government.

“I’ve worked across the aisle with people with different viewpoints to inspire a shared vision, that we could all come together and work towards the good of our country,” said Weslander-Quaid.

Some of Weslander-Quaid’s top priorities include what she calls a “constitutionally limited government”

“What I mean is the core rolls of the government outlined in the preamble of the constitution, and we need to make sure that we are doing those roles well, and that includes fiscal responsibility in the United States Congress,” said Weslander-Quaid.

If elected, Weslander-Quaid said she will focus on improving energy solutions, homelessness, economy and inflation.

“Now with the government printing money and causing inflation, that has caused us to change from a free market economy more to crony capitalism, where the government is deciding winners and losers. So I think it’s very important that the government stop interfering with the economy and return to a free market,” Weslander-Quaid.

"I want to preserve it as the land of opportunity for future generations. You can count on me to act with integrity and work diligently to represent your interests in Washington DC," said Weslander-Quaid.
