SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Matthew Cunningham scored 20 points and Kai Morphy added 18 but Bishop Diego lost 60-57 to Rio Mesa in a first round CIF-SS Division 4A playoff game.

The Spartans will host West Covina on Friday in a second round game.
