SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - In their first game after the New Year, the Bishop Diego Cardinals used a solid second half to grab a win heading into league play.

Bishop Diego took control after halftime and held off Orcutt Academy en route to a 67-57 win on Saturday night.

The Cardinals (9-8) will begin Tri-Valley League play at Santa Clara on Wednesday. The Spartans (9-6) visit Central Coast League foe Nipomo on Tuesday.
