Assessing storm damage in San Luis Obispo County

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. - A neighborhood in Los Osos has taken severe damage from the storm. San Luis Obispo County Emergency Services Coordinator Rachel Dion tells News Channel 3-12, "There was a neighborhood of about 15 homes that were completely, or severely destroyed."

Dion said the county is still assessing the situation to figure out exactly what happened.

"Basically, there was a large flow of mud and water that just went barreling through the homes," Dion said.

In the interview, Dion also describes areas of flooding in Oceano and communities isolated by damage to roadways, including in the area around Lake Nacimiento.
