Ventura County Fire Department warns public of potential coastal flooding

Patricia Martellotti I KEYT

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. – Crews with Ventura County Fire Station 53 said they are remaining in flood watch mode with extra staff on duty during this week’s inclement weather.

One of their main concerns is the high surf along the coast of Ventura and Port Hueneme.

They said there is potential coastal flooding, and a lot of debris washing up along the beaches due to this week’s heavy rainstorm.

Fire crews are urging the public to stay away from beaches and breakwaters.
