Denis O'Leary art show celebrates Hispanic Heritage at Oxnard Librtary

OXNARD, Calif.-An art show celebrating Hispanic Heritage will be on display for one more weekend.

The show in the children's area of the Oxnard Public Library includes art honoring Dia de Los Muertos, farm workers and labor leaders; Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta.

Chavez grew up in Oxnard's La Colonia neighborhood.

Artist Denis O'Leary hopes his art will encourage children to read about their heritage.

"As a retired educator, I always encourage families to bring their kids to the library, so they can discover the wonderful world of books," said O'Leary.

The show runs through October 30th at the main library on A Street in Oxnard
