Safe and Sane fireworks go on sale in Fillmore
FILLMORE, Calif.-Safe and sane fireworks sales began at noon on Wednesday in Fillmore.
The city chose 20 local nonprofits to operate the stands along highway 126.
On one end of town there is a stand that benefits the Santa Clara River Valley Railroad Historical Society. (scrvrhs.com)
"For our group it is like our lifeline it gives us funds to continues for another year," said SCRHS President John Gartman.
Gartman hopes the society will earn $15,000 from Safe and Sane sales.
On the other end of town, off Los Seranos Drive, is the Fillmore Search and Rescue fireworks stand.

Scott Tyman who has been a Ventura County Search and Rescue volunteer for 16 years is volunteering at the booth, too.
"For our group it is like our lifeline, it gives us funds to continues for another year," said Tyman, "This is our budget for the year this is where we make all our money for all our equipment, pretty much everything they don't give us."
There's always something new on sale including Unicorn Poop, DIno Egg Nests, Magic Seashells, and Fairy Wands that look like giant sparklers.
And there is a giant box of everything for about $800.
These days they take cash, credit and even Apple Pay.
Most items have QR codes linked to videos that explain how to use them.
Although they are intended to be used within Fillmore's city limits, many of the customers come from out-of-town.
The stands give out California State Fire Marshal information cards and and rules and regulations flyers.
Safe and Sane Fireworks are on sale through the 4th of July.
