OXNARD, Calif.

The 34th Annual Ventura County Martin Luther King, JR Day began with a Freedom March in Oxnard that ended in a new location.

It began at Plaza Park like last year, but rather than ending at the Oxnard Performing Arts and Convention Center (PACC) it ended at the Oxnard PAL Gymnasiam on South K St.

Recent budget cuts have cut events at the PACC.

"Dream, Believe, Act, We can do more together than apart" served as this year's theme.

Moorpark's City Manager Troy Brown served at the keynote speaker.

Artist Anderson .Paak created a foundation to save the PACC.
