Man struck, killed by vehicle in Oxnard

OXNARD, Calif. - A 44-year-old man was struck and killed by a pickup truck late Monday evening in Oxnard.

Oxnard police and paramedics responded to the area of Ventura Road north of Fifth Street in Oxnard at around 11:15 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, they found a 44-year-old man who was seriously injured. He was transported to the hospital but died from his injuries.

Investigators determined that the man was crossing the roadway at Ventura Road when he was struck by a silver Ford F-150 traveling south on Ventura Road.

The driver of the pickup remained on scene and cooperated with investigators.

Police say it does not appear alcohol or speed were factors in the crash.
