VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. -- The main pipe failure has left mobile home residents have been without water for several days in Newbury Park on Thursday.

Ventura County Sheriff's Office deputies were on site at the Vallecito Mobile Home Park to provide water to residents.

Ventura County Fire and the Red Cross were also on hand to assist the 300 affected residents with their water needs.

Deputies brought a bulk water truck that was acquired from the DRMO surplus program from the military.

The bulk truck is to provide residents with sanitary needs.

Officials say the pipe repairs are expected to be completed sometime Thursday.

Officials recommend that residents boil water before consumption for the 24 hour period after water service is restored or to continue using bottled water for cooking and drinking.

Officials say restored water service may be used for bathing purposes.
