Police turn to the public for help investigating the July 4 murder of Brandon Cabrera in Santa Maria

SANTA MARIA, Calif. – Police are turning to the public for help investigating the July 4 murder of 25-year-old Brandon Cabrera.

On July 4, around 11:22 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of West Lolita for a reported shooting stated a press release Tuesday.

Arriving officers found a man with multiple gunshot wounds and he was transported from the scene to Marian Medical Center but he later died from his injuries detailed the Santa Maria Police Department.

The man was first identified as 25-year-old Brandon Cabrera of Santa Maria Tuesday.

The investigation into his death is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Rubio at 805-928-3781 ext. 1682 or Detective Santiago at extension 1362.
