Elks Recreation hosts first annual 4th of July fundraiser

Elks Recreation

SANTA MARIA, Calif. -- Elks Recreation will hosts their first ever Fourth of July fundraising event.

The Recreation program will be hosting the first annual "You've Been Flagged" fundraiser celebrating the American holiday.

The program wanted to bring forward a lively event for community members after a devastating year due to COVID-19.

The President of the Elks Recreation say they will be raising funds to help continue supporting youth activities and programs on the Central Coast.

According to the Elks Recreation President, Peter Sterling, “Our hopes are to blanket the community with American Flags in celebration of Independence Day."

The program will be selling flags to Santa Maria residents to place on their yards. There are three packages available to choose from that range from $35 to $100.

All packages will include a designated number of flags to be placed along with a commemorative yard sign.

People can purchase their desired package size and with two of the packages, Santa Maria team members will be able to deliver and place those flags on July 3 to their designated person or business of choice.
