Pianos on State Serenades Downtown Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (KEYT) — Downtown Santa Barbara is filling up with music as colorful pianos invite residents and visitors to sit down and play.

The annual Pianos on State event is bringing together art and music through October 19th, giving people of all ages and musical abilities a chance to perform in public.

Local artists have transformed ordinary pianos into colorful works of art, each featuring its own creative design.

The instruments are placed throughout State Street and other public locations, allowing anyone to enjoy a spontaneous performance or try playing a few notes.

The event also gives local artists an opportunity to share their creativity while encouraging people to connect through music.

The pianos are available daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Pianos on State is a program of the Santa Barbara Arts Collaborative in partnership with other community groups.
