Veterans Day: Cottage Health honors those who served
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Each year, Cottage Health celebrates Veterans Day with a special lunch for our veterans.
Cottage Health is proud to stand in gratitude "for those who have selflessly served our country."
"Was part of the historical continue-um of people who served this country since its beginning ... I believe in the constitution of the United States," said family consultant Dina Ontiveras of Cottage Health.
In addition to her work in healthcare, Ontiveras is also a proud veteran.
"I was a soldier in the US Army reserve and I was stationed at the 4/25 Soul affairs unit on State Street in Santa Barbara for six years," said Ontiveras.
The veteran looks forward to celebrating with other staff members at Cottage health including veteran Ruben regalado.
"Takes me back to my time in the service. I really enjoyed my time there and I felt I did something honorable," said veteran and security coordinator Ruben Regalado of Cottage Health.
The cottage health team extends their heartfelt appreciation to its employees and volunteers who have served in the armed forces.
"I do appreciate it just here at cottages they celebrate veterans, and they host a luncheon for us. That’s a Service my way I really appreciate that. They’re they’re thinking of their veterans at that time," said Regalado.
This year, retired colonel Kevin Nelson will lead a traditional honoring of fallen veterans at Cottage Health.
"We remember those who are no longer here," said Ontiveras.
