Kenny Loggins reflects on ‘This Is It – His Final Tour 2023!’
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - 'This Is It!' Those three words are likely tugging at the hearts of longtime Kenny Loggins' fans these days. And, hundreds of students who've had the honor of his musical mentorship.
"This Is It" -- one of Loggins' banner hit songs -- is ushering the local rock legend through his final tour, which ends November 4, and will celebrate him back home to Santa Barbara.
"You know, the coming to the decision to have it be the final year, I just felt that it was it was time."
The singer, songwriter built his music career on folksy rock hits "Danny's Song" and "House at Pooh Corner" in the early 1970's.
Ending his final concert tour more than five decades later will showcase how many of his hit songs have spanned genres and generations. That includes a riveting revival of his 1986 Navy Fighter Pilot-like anthem "Danger Zone," thanks to the film "Top Gun: Maverick."
"You know, I think that I've been pretending that this tour is just another day or disguised as just another day, when in actuality, it's it's a big deal. You know, it's the end of an era for me."
And, it is also a new beginning.
