Couple takes pictures as roadway collapses below in Montecito
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif.– The roadway along east Mountain Drive by the Cold Springs Trailhead in Montecito almost collapsed under a couple taking pictures serving as a cautionary tale to follow safety and road closures.
That particular roadway washed away and began falling into the creek below in Monday's rainstorm and was still unsafe when the couple almost perished.
Montecito resident Sarah Bacon took the video as she returned to check the status of the roads to her home.
The road may look safe and stable to cross for the public, but the community should follow all traffic and safety warnings.
