Santa Barbara County leaders to announce evacuation areas for incoming storm at afternoon news conference

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – Santa Barbara County leaders will announce evacuation areas for the incoming storm at a news conference held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Kelsey Gerckens, county public information officer, said the press conference will convey current situational information. "It is imperative to understand the seriousness of the situation and prepare to take actions to protect oneself, family, pets and any tenants, visitors and workers."

The leaders speaking at this conference include:

  • Sheriff Bill Brown, Santa Barbara County Sheriff
  • Chief Mark Hartwig, County Fire Department
  • Chief Kevin Taylor, Montecito Fire Protection District
  • Captain Mike Logie, California Highway Patrol
