Sansum Clinic Urgent Care averaging 1,100 visits weekly

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A local urgent care in Santa Barbara is getting an overwhelming number of patients through the holiday season.

Doctors at Sansum Clinic Urgent Care say they are booked with appointments.

The clinic's daily patient volume is up 20 percent.

Confirmed diagnoses of flu and RSV are up a record high of 480 percent from last month.

Pediatricians say they've been getting many questions about RSV and other infections.

So they created a web page to answer some of them at https://www.sansumclinic.org/rsv-updates.

Doctors say the clinic is currently averaging 1,100 visits and over 900 phone calls in the pediatrics department each week.

They say most of the calls are due to the high volume of patients needing care for flu, colds, coughs and RSV.
