SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – A planned burn that was scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday near Painted Cave Road was postponed just after 12 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the Santa Barbara County Air Pollution Control District.

The postponement is due to "unfavorable conditions," and more information will be released once new target dates are selected, said APCD spokeswoman Lyz Bantilan.

The original plan was to burn around seven acres of brush in order to help prevent the spread of wildfires and reduce impacts to watersheds that can result in soil loss.
