Alaska Airlines announces nonstop flights from Santa Barbara to San Diego starting June 17

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Santa Barbara Airport will provide nonstop flights to San Diego starting June 17.

Alaska Airlines will offer nonstop flights to San Diego International Airport starting June 17,

The flight is expected to be only an hour long bypassing the normal four hour plus drive through Los Angeles.

“We are honored that Alaska Airlines has chosen SBA for this new route to San Diego and we are reassured summertime travel to southern California just got easier with this new direct service says Airport Director, Henry Thompson. “This new flight will offer a quick trip to sunny San Diego for families and those needing to travel for business.”

This will be the third daily direct flight for Alaska Airlines out of Santa Barbara.

The flight from Santa Barbara will be at 6:15 p.m. to San Diego at 7:17 p.m. The flight from San Diego will be from 4:30 p.m. to Santa Barbara at 5:35 p.m.

The Embraer 175 will serve the route and has a capacity up to 74 passengers and four classes of seating options.

The Santa Barbara Airport is also celebrating its new services in June every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Dave’s Dogs on-site at the Terminal.
