Scene cleared after bomb squad investigates bag left at Santa Barbara courthouse

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's bomb squad responded to the Santa Barbara Courthouse Thursday for a report of a suspicious package left on the property.
Streets were closed in the immediate area surrounding the courthouse, which is located on the corner of Figueroa Street and Santa Barbara Street.
A photo posted by Santa Barbara County Sheriff's public information officer Raquel Zick showed a black bag left on the courthouse lawn.

Video posted by the sheriff's office showed a bomb squad robot investigating the black bag.
The bag was opened and found to be filled with personal items and there was no danger to the public.
Roadways were opened shortly after.
Santa Barbara police, fire and ambulances assisted with the incident.
