GAVIOTA, Calif. - Santa Barbara County Fire and Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a body found off Mariposa Reina beach in Gaviota.

The incident was reported around 10:26 a.m. Sunday morning.

The Sheriff's Office said it appears the person died by suicide, however, the investigation is still ongoing.

At 10:26 this morning, deputies responded to the Gaviota beach area to investigate a found body. This death is an apparent suicide. Investigation is ongoing. Decedents identity is not yet available for release.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
