Santa Barbara County reports 15th death related to COVID-19

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. -- Santa Barbara County Public Health reports the fifteenth death due to COVID-19 on Friday afternoon.

Public Health says the person was from Lompoc and was in their 60s with underlying health conditions.

As of Friday, there are now 1,787 confirmed cases in Santa Barbara County. 981 of those cases are at the Lompoc Prison.

The County Health Director gave the following statement:

“We express our condolences to the family and friends of the individual who passed. As we proceed with opening additional sectors, we ask community members to continue doing their part by practicing physical distancing, washing their hands, and wearing face coverings.”
