SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Some of Santa Barbara's favorite summer camps will take place this summer.

Amid schools closures and new public health orders, the City of Santa Barbara Parks and Recreation Department has received many questions regarding plans for summer camps.

Summer camp sessions are currently scheduled to begin on June 22. This is in anticipation of Santa Barbara County entering Phase 3, and approval of a Health Officer Order.

The camps that are scheduled will have modifications to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Camp capacity will be smaller this year, and each session will break out into small, socially-distanced groups.

A full list of camps can be found here. The schedule is subject to change. Registrants will be notified if any adjustments are made.

Campers registered in sessions scheduled to start before June 22 will receive a full refund. Families signed up for camp sessions may also request refunds if they feel uncomfortable with sending their children to summer camp this year.

To request a refund, send an email to ParksAndRec@SantaBarbaraCA.gov or call 805-564-5495. The usual $25 administrative fee for summer camp cancellations will be waived.
