Santa Barbara County Fire help contain 1,395 acre Scorpion Fire

SANTA CRUZ ISLAND, Calif. -- Santa Barbara County Fire crews are assisting the U.S. Forest Service and National Park Service with a vegetation fire on Santa Cruz Island on Tuesday.

The vegetation fire called the Scorpion Fire now burns 1,395 acres on Santa Cruz Island.

The fire began Sunday morning near the pier at Scorpion Anchorage in the Channel Island National Park.

Santa Barbara County Crew 10 assisted with containment of the fire.

Currently, County Fire says the fire is 90 percent contained.
