Christmas day travelers

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Travelers are making the most of delays and rental car shortages.

Many people spent part of Christmas day waiting for loved ones to fly into the Santa Barbara airport.

Their loved ones had been delayed by weather in other states.

Other people who made it on time found it difficult to get where they wanted to go due to a shortage of rental cars.

Mike Dunaway said, "I rented a car online. They don't have any even though I have a confirmation number. I found a local person who we will give me a ride. It is a merry Christmas"

A man picking up his son offered to help a stranger.

Mike Sekela said, "My son's flight was delayed because of snow."

When he overheard a man talking about Santa Maria he offered to give him a ride.

Christmas isn't the busiest travel day of the year, but people at the airport witnessed some emotional reunions and send-offs.
