San Luis Obispo County introducing new evacuation zones

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.- San Luis Obispo County is introducing new evacuation zones.

By using the county's online evacuation search tool, you can enter your home address and find out the name of your designated zone.

The new zone names will be used for emergency scenarios like evacuation warnings and orders.

This change will help first responders and residents quickly respond to local emergencies like fires, flooding, and tsunamis.

SLO County emergency responders says taking a minute to write down your evacuation zone could save your life.
