Paso Robles Library expands free WiFi service for guests during pandemic
PASO ROBLES, Calif. - In celebration of National Library Card Sign-up
Month, the Paso Robles City Library has added four more free Wi-Fi tables for use outside the library building.
These Wi-Fi tables are ideal for outdoor laptop users and are available for check out.
Last April, in response to the pandemic, the downtown City Library’s internet was expanded to include the benches on the north side of the building and the lawn area and parking spaces along the building’s windows on 11th Street.
At the Library Study Center, Wi-Fi reception was expanded to reach 36th and Oak streets.
Library Wi-Fi is available to the public from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week at both locations.
Both locations have the same login information:
Network Name: LibraryWiFi
Password: 2020wifi
Many residents in Paso Robles and the surrounding areas are now working from home or relying on distance learning, which means staying connected to the internet is essential.
For those who cannot afford WiFi or who live in difficult-to-reach places, the library is offering Hot Spots, or portable Wi-Fi units, that can be requested and checked out for one week at a time.
Up to ten personal devices can be connected to one Hot Spot unit. The library is allowing only one Hot Spot per family.
At this time, the library is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. for vulnerable populations and Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the general public. On Saturday , the library is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the general public.
