GROVER BEACH, Calif. - The 5 Cities Homeless Coalition is set to open its winter warming center Monday night.

The South County Warming Center is located at LifePoint Church at 946 Rockaway Ave.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and the center closes Tuesday morning at 7 a.m.

Adults who want to shelter from the cold are invited to the warming center to stay the night. Overnight guests have access to a safe, dry place and a hot meal, as well as entertainment like board games and books.

Anyone planning to stay should not show up before 5 p.m. The center cannot accept pets. Sobriety is not a requirement to gain access to the warming center, but drugs or alcohol are not allowed on the property.

The warming center opens when weather forecast includes a 50 percent chance of rain or temperatures dropping below 40 degrees.

For up to date information about operation of the warming center, call 805-710-4330. To receive automatic alerts to your phone, text Add Me with your name to the same number.

5 Cities Homeless Coalition also accepts donations. You can donate new items including sweatshirts, sweatpants, socks, and underwear. Or drop off food items like coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cereal, granola bars, peanut butter & jelly, and individually packaged juice, crackers, cookies, and chips.
