Santa Barbara Zoo animals safe after Monday’s storm
SANTA BARBARA, Calif.- Monday’s storm caused multiple freeway shutdowns and flooding in many parts of Santa Barbara County.
But the famous Santa Barbara Zoo managed to keep the animals safe during this time. On Tuesday, the zoo took to Instagram to report that no significant damage was sustained following the storm.
Zoo officials say that they are prioritizing the health and safety of their staff and animals.
Many staff members worked on-site and stayed overnight at the zoo to ensure that the animals would be protected from the torrential downpour.
