City of Lompoc hosts digital forum to address rise in crime

LOMPOC, Calif. -- Lompoc invited community members to participate in a virtual forum on Monday to discuss the recent rise in violent crime in the city.

The meeting was scheduled in response to a spike in violent crime, including four shootings in the last two weeks which are still under investigation.

Questions were submitted to the mayor by email before the forum began at 7 p.m.

The forum was held on Zoom and residents were encouraged to listen in.
