Abandoned car intentionally set on fire in Casmalia

A car fire was quickly put out by the Santa Barbara County Fire Department Thursday morning. Firefighters stopping it before the flames could spread to nearby brush in Casmalia.

The California Highway Patrol says it appears the car was set on fire intentionally sometime before 7 a.m. on Lompoc Casmalia Road near The Hitching Post restaurant. Flames and smoke could be seen coming from the vehicle which had been parked there for a couple days, according to the CHP. Authorities believe the car was stolen

The CHP is investigating.
