Fundraising efforts underway for inclusive playground

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A big community effort is underway to build Santa Barbara's first inclusive playground.

The Gwendolyn Strong Foundation held a fundraiser to raise money to build Gwendolyn's Playground.

The playground is inspired by Gwendolyn Strong who lived until the age of 7 with Spinal Muscular Atrophy or SMA.

The playground will have a sensory-rich environment and experiences where kids of all abilities can play side by side.

The event raised approximately $150,000. The price tag for the playground is $4 million.
