Quarter-acre grass fire extinguished east of Santa Margarita

SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. - Firefighters battled a small brush fire Sunday afternoon that started east of Santa Margarita.

Crews from CAL FIRE and Los Padres National Forest were dispatched to the 3300 block of West Pozo Road near McNeil Truck Trail around 1:16 p.m.

They said the fire burned about a quarter-acre of grass in an area surrounded by roads before being fully extinguished at 3 p.m.

No structures were threatened by the fire and no injuries were reported.

Crews said the cause is under investigation.
