Small brush fire extinguished in Paso Robles riverbed

PASO ROBLES, Calif. - Firefighters quickly stopped a brush fire in the Salinas Riverbed Saturday morning.

They said it started around 7:09 a.m. south of the Highway 46 East bridge.

First arriving firefighters said they found a 10-by-10-foot spot burning in trees and brush.

The fire was contained within 10 minutes and crews continued working to extinguish the fire over the next half hour.

Investigators determined the fire was started by humans, however, no suspects were seen in the area at the time.

This is an ongoing investigation.
