Small brush fire contained near Salinas River in Paso Robles
PASO ROBLES, Calif. - Paso Robles and CAL FIRE firefighters responded to a brush fire that broke out in the Salinas Riverbed Saturday afternoon.
Crews responded to the burn around 3:07 p.m. in a portion of the riverbed near the 100 block of Niblick Road along Highway 101.
They said the fire was burning in dense vegetation with a slow rate of spread.
The fire was reportedly contained to a 40-by-40-foot spot by 5 p.m. Firefighters remained on scene afterward to mop up the area and ensure all hot spots were extinguished.
Crews advised drivers traveling northbound on the freeway to use caution in the area.

CAL FIRE said there have two other fires in the same area over the past couple of weeks.
The cause of this fire was determined to be human-related.
