SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Santa Barbara City and County Fire crews responded to a house fire near the Riviera Saturday morning.

The fire was reported around 10:11 a.m. on the 1300 block of Dover Hill Road shortly after a vegetation fire broke out near Loma Alta Drive in the city.

Residents reported seeing smoke and flames from miles away.

City fire dispatched three engines and a ladder truck to the area. The first arriving engine on scene reported heavy smoke and fire coming form the second floor of the building.

Unfortunately, crews said they have not been able to conduct a search of the building for any potential victims. Firefighters are working to extinguish the fire at this time.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Dover Hill Road is closed to traffic in the immediate area at this time.
