Fire breaks out on Cal Poly campus

A fire burning on Cal Poly campus.

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - A vegetation fire broke out near the Cerro Vista Apartments on the Cal Poly campus Tuesday evening.

At 7:23 p.m., CAL FIRE SLO said forward progress was stopped.

The fire has burned about one acre.

CALFIRE and San Luis Obispo Fire Department responded.

The fire was burning away from campus and did not threaten any structures, Cal Poly said. People were advised to avoid the area.

This is a developing situation and we will provide more updates as we learn more.
