SLO County Fire Safe Council hosts wood chipping event in Los Osos
LOS OSOS, Calif. - San Luis Obispo County residents were able to get old trees and branches processed during a chipping event in Los Osos on Sunday.
The South Bay San Luis Obispo County Fire Safe Council hosted the event in partnership with the Los Osos Community Services District and CAL FIRE.
Community members could bring their materials to Fairchild Way between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to be disposed. No treated or untreated lumber for construction purposes was accepted.
CAL FIRE said the purpose of the event was to reduce the amount of hazardous fire fuel within the Los Osos area.
