San Luis Obispo police search for man suspected of robbing store at gunpoint
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The San Luis Obispo Police Department is seeking the public's help identifying and locating a man suspected of robbing a store at gunpoint Friday night.
Officers said they responded to reports of an armed robbery at Tony’s Cigars and Accessories on Higuera Street around 8:35 p.m.
Witnesses told police that a man in a mask had walked into the store and asked the employee the gather several items for him.
After the employee gathered the items, they were placed in a bag and carried to the counter.
The man then reportedly pulled out a Glock-style handgun and demanded money from the cash register.
After the money was placed in the bag, the man reportedly threatened to hurt the employee if he called the police. He then fled the store on foot.
Police described the robbery suspect as having a tan complexion, being about 40 to 50 years old, wearing a green Carhartt brand sweatshirt, dark pants and Nike or "Jordans" style shoes. The employee also described the man as having an accent.
This investigation is ongoing.
