Inmate Escape attempt
Deputies say Ashley Moss tried to get away at a hospital in January.

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- A San Luis Obispo County Jail inmate accused of trying to escape custody in a hospital is facing a new charge.

The Sheriff’s Office says deputies took 30-year-old Ashley Moss to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center after complaining of a nose bleed on January 9.

While there, they say she tried to get away by escaping through a ceiling panel in the restroom.

Deputies found Moss right away, about five feet from the removed ceiling tile.

They say she was taken right back into custody.

The suspect was first taken into custody on January 3rd by Atascadero police on burglary, grand theft, and criminal conspiracy charges.
