Oxnard police investigating deadly shooting
OXNARD, Calif. - The Oxnard Police Department is investigating a homicide after a deadly shooting that took place Sunday night.
Police and ambulance responded to the 200 block of South Marquita Street to a reported shooting victim at about 9:40 pm.
When officers arrived, they found a man lying on the ground suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
The man was identified as a 22-year-old Hispanic male from Oxnard.
He was transported to the hospital where he was immediately taken into surgery, and later died of his injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
