Two men injured after stabbing and assault in Santa Maria

The incident took place in the area of Boone and Thornburg Streets.

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The Santa Maria Police and Fire Departments responded to an incident on Wednesday in the area of Thornburg and Boone Streets that left two men with injuries.

The incident happened around 2 to 3 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Police confirmed that one man sustained multiple stab wounds and the other received head trauma from the assault. Their injuries are considered non-life threatening.

The man with stab wounds was flown to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by CALSTAR while the other was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center for further treatment.

Police said the suspect is still at large. The incident is not considered gang-related at this time.
