Two suspects arrested for multiple retail thefts

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - Simi Valley Police Officers responded to a report of a theft in progress at the Target on Tierra Rejada Monday morning.

The Target's Loss Prevention Officers called Simi Valley Police and said the two suspects had already stolen from the Target in Moorpark and were now preparing to steal from the Simi Valley store.

Police went to the scene and successfully detained the suspects, identified as Randy Cervantez, 29, and Yvette Romeron, 37, after they exited the building.

During the investigation, Simi Valley Costco Loss Prevention Officers reported a theft from their store by two people with matching descriptions to Cervantez and Romeron.

The two reportedly fled and abandoned the stolen property upon being confronted by the Loss Prevention Officers.

After searching their vehicle, Police found stolen property from both the Moorpark and Simi Valley Target thefts.

Cervantez and Romero were booked at Ventura County Main Jail for Organized Retail Theft and Commercial Shoplifting.
