Man stabbed in Ventura

VENTURA, Calif. - The Ventura Police Department Command Center received a call from Community Memorial Hospital after a stabbing victim came into the ER for treatment late Saturday night.

At about 11:45 p.m., Police responded and contacted the victim who had been transported to Ventura County Medical Center for the treatment of his injuries.

Police said the victim, a 26-year-old man, was suffering from non-life threatening injuries to his mid-torso.

The victim reported that about 20 minutes before he arrived at the hospital, he was near the 100 block of E. Center Street.

There he was confronted by several subjects. The subjects attacked the victim for unclear reasons, at which time he was stabbed.

The subjects reportedly fled the area on foot after the stabbing.

Ventura Police Officers responded to the area but were unable to find the suspects.

The suspects were described as Hispanic males between the ages of 18 and 24.

Police are actively investigation the incident and ask that anyone who has more information or is a witness to this crime contact the Ventura Police Department at 339-4416.
